HBOT for Autism – A Mother’s Testimonial

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

For the past 4 ½ years we have been on a journey as a family to recover our daughter from “vaccine injury.”  It has been a long road, with many ups and downs.  We have dealt with many medical professionals over the years, and because of all the bad experiences we have had, I always feel particularly compelled to commend those who have been overly helpful.  We actually left “traditional’ medicine when our daughter was 9 months old – it was the best decision we ever made.  It was our experience that traditional medical practitioners were there to treat symptoms with pharmaceutical products, and in our case, our daughters declining health was described as “just how it was.”  Thankfully we stopped her vaccines at 6 months, and I am sure this is part of the reason we have recovered her nearly 100%.  However there have been many other alternative treatments that have helped her along the way – homeopathy, chiropractic care, acupuncture, and most recently when she was 3 years old, we were made aware of the biochemical protocol of Dr. Amy Yasko, and for Ava, this was the turning point.  Dr. Yasko was able to show us how Ava had significant mutations in the primary pathway responsible for detoxifying the body – but better yet – she had a plan as to how to heal people with these genetic mutations – it was a LOT of work – Ava is now on some 50+ supplements daily – mostly vitamins, minerals, specific amino acids, and B12 injections (though this is an overly simplistic summary) – we monitor Ava’s progress through urine, blood and stool samples, and adjust her protocol accordingly.  Ava will be attending a regular private school in the fall with no accomodations, and for that we are thankful.  Early in the past summer, we realized that while we had recovered Ava nearly 100% from a neurological and developmental standpoint, we were still left with a great deal of digestive injury (essentially leaky gut) – and so we heard that HBOT USA was open, and scheduled a consultation.  We were provided with lots of paperwork to fill out – and a paper written by Dr. Patrick Elliot – about his own families journey on the ASD spectrum – we knew right away that the folks at this center knew a good deal more than any other place we had been – and I strongly encourage all parents to take the time to read Dr. Elliot’s paper – it is a great summary of all the care that is available in the alternative world – and raises important points about all the toxins that our children come into contact with.  Any parent who is truly in this battle realizes that it is a battle on all fronts, there is much to be aware of, much to learn about, and many ways in which you can protect your children from the onslaught of environmental toxins.  I assure you that my 4 ½ year old daughter had much better ideas in mind as to how to spend her summer – but thankfully – the folks in the trenches daily with us at the center, Deneen, Jane, and our beloved Rocky and Mitch, made surviving the 40 HBOT dives bearable.  The true compassion that these staff members showed Ava and our family cannot be appropriately captured in words.  We have been to medical treatment centers all around this country – and it is rare that you are treated like you really matter, but this is just what these folks did.  Mitch and Rocky have a way with all kids, not just mine, I have observed them over countless hours, and all I can say to any parent who has concern about diving their child, is that at the least, you know your child will be treated with love, compassion and respect.  Everyone who works at the center has many responsibilities, yet each one of them – even Dr. Bryant, who was not assigned to us – took the time on a regular basis to ask how we were doing, and they stopped to truly listen, we engaged in lots of meaningful and deep conversation, and I feel that we all learned something from one another.  The best part is that while we have certainly made some progress with Ava’s digestive injury – we actually had a gain I was not expecting, and that was the recovery of her auditory processing.  As an educator, I was pretty sure Ava would be identified as needing an IEP for auditory processing, and in my opinion, that was a small price to pay considering she was no longer placed on the ASD spectrum, however after 40 dives, I have a kid who seems to be processing auditory information quite well, and I will be surprised if she requires any IEP at all.  Again, I cannot thank Deneen, Jane, Rocky and Mitch enough for making what could have been a miserable summer of 40 dives into a pleasant daily outing – as a result of their genuine professionalism, I have no reservation in recommending the center to other parents hoping to recover their children.

Sincerely,

Monica Reinhard-Gorney and Robert Gorney Jr.

Tiger Woods used Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Tiger Woods used Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to speed healing from his injury.

“I had PRP, platelet-enriched plasma treatments. They draw blood from your arm, spin it in a centrifuge and spin the plasma into the entries. As you all know, 2008 I blew out my ACL and part of my reconstruction … it wasn’t reacting properly. So I had the PRP injection into my LCL. I also went to hyperbaric chambers after the injections to help heal faster.”
